The inaugural Sisi Ni Dola Cup 2025 came to a thrilling conclusion at the Mombasa Sports Grounds, as Fayaz FC clinched the championship title in dramatic fashion, edging out Fetuwe FC 1–0 in a pulsating final on Sunday evening.
The lone goal came in the 81st minute, courtesy of Hamid Mohamed, who capped off an outstanding individual performance to secure glory for his side and etch his name in the tournament’s history books.
Fayaz FC walked away with KSh 500,000 in prize money, while runners up Fetuwe FC settled for KSh 250,000. Al Shifaa Media FC claimed the third position, pocketing KSh 100,000.
The night firmly belonged to Hamid Mohamed, who was deservedly named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament.
The versatile winger and playmaker proved to be Fayaz’s talisman throughout the competition registering three goals, three assists, and earning three Man of the Match awards from seven appearances.
Hamid’s composure, vision, and ability to dictate the tempo in midfield made him a standout performer.
His decisive goal in the final was a fitting climax to a tournament where he consistently showcased exceptional ball control, accurate passing, and deadly finishing in front of goal.
“This victory means everything to us. We worked hard as a team, and I dedicate this award to my teammates and our fans,” said an emotional Hamid after receiving his MVP trophy.
The Sisi Ni Dola Cup, organized by Dola Group, has quickly established itself as one of the most prestigious grassroots football competitions in Kenya’s Coast region.
This year’s edition featured 20 teams, divided into four groups of five, battling through intense group stages and high stakes knockout rounds.

From Nyundo FC and Kisauni Combine FC in Group A to Simba Apparel FC and Mombasa Sports Club in Group D, every match delivered pure football drama, electrifying the crowds and uniting communities through sport.
The tournament not only provided a platform for young, aspiring footballers to display their talent but also emphasized discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship values that lie at the heart of community football.
Speaking during the closing ceremony, Dola Group officials lauded the tournament’s success and reiterated their commitment to nurturing local talent and promoting unity through sports.
“The Sisi Ni Dola Cup is more than a competition it’s a movement of hope, community pride, and opportunity for our youth,” said one of the organizers.
“We are proud of how the players have showcased both skill and character.”
Over the years, the tournament has become a breeding ground for future stars, with several alumni now playing in top flight Kenyan leagues.
As the floodlights dimmed and the champions lifted their trophy, one thing became clear the Sisi Ni Dola Cup 2025 had not only produced a champion but had also reignited the spirit of community football at the Coast.
